If I were in charge of the world

I'd cancel math class,
public speaking,

long waiting lines, and also
dentist appointments.

If I were in charge of the world
there'd be less expensive college educations,
cream soda, and
nap times for all ages.

If I were in charge of the world
you wouldn't have the common cold.
You wouldn't have graphs.
You wouldn't have homelessness.
Or "You're too young to be sad."
You wouldn't even have depression.

If I were in charge of the world
a plate of French fries with chipotle mayo would be a vegetable.
All animals would have loving homes.
And a person who sometimes forgot to eat breakfast
and sometimes forgot to smile,
would still be allowed to be
in charge of the world.
